Critical Care NP or PA

UVA Community Health is seeking a full time Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Critical Care team of two physicians and four APPs, with multiple PRN providers at a community hospital that practices evidence based critical care medicine with a diverse and high acuity patient population. Closed ICU model, with excellent nursing, RT and subspecialty support including cardiology, surgery, IR and neurology. Average census is eight patients a day with three on Ventilators. No call responsibilities after shift is complete.

Details about the Unit:

• 11-bed unit at Prince William Medical Center, with the ability to flex up to 19 beds
• Staffing model: In house procedurally trained APP 24/7. Physician in house during the day with home phone call availability
• Telemedicine support to Haymarket Medical Center for triage and management assistance to ED and hospitalist service for critically ill patients

Required:

• PA or NP Degree
• Current Virginia medical license and DEA
• Experience in Critical Care medicine
• Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges

Preferred:

• Preferably procedurally trained in central line and arterial line placement
