Medical University of South Carolina – Full-time tenure- track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level and above in our on-campus University Internal Medicine (UIM) academic primary care practice in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and leadership in both education and clinical care as a key faculty member in the Geriatric Medicine fellowship program. This traditional academic position requires a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate medical education and a scholarly focus on quality & safety, population health and delivery of high-value healthcare services. Board certification in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics required and an MPH is preferred. The combined faculty and education practice is a level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home with approximately 12,000 patients. Initial clinical responsibilities will include a combination of outpatient Geriatrics faculty practice in the University Internal Medicine practice location on the main MUSC campus and precepting sessions with Geriatric Medicine fellows and Internal Medicine residents, as well as attending on the inpatient Geriatrics consultation service. There will be a concomitant reduction in outpatient clinics while on the Consult service weeks. On call responsibilities commensurate with usual Division on call responsibilities. Overall cFTE and related clinical work may be offset proportionally by any funded effort for teaching, other leadership roles or grant funding.
