Work Hours/Shift Full time Exempt, 40 hours per week
You Will Be Responsible For Patient/support partner(s) and staff education: Promotes knowledge of surgical procedures and effects for patient, support partner(s), and care providers Performance Criteria Quality Management: Educates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team to plan and participate in quality initiatives and research projects. Performance Criteria Clinical Services: Serves as primary point of entry for patients requiring navigation and coordination of care. Qualifications What You Will Need Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required at time of hire or enrollment in MSN program within 1 year of hire At least 3 years of recent nursing experience in acute care nursing required At least 2 years of recent nursing experience in orthopedic care Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred Professional certification in specialty area by recognized national nursing organization within 1 year of hire required Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required
Job Summary The orthopedic Nurse Navigator is a specialized hhealth care professional who guides specific surgical patients through the healthcare sylstem during and surrounding the time of surgery. The Navigator will focus on these five areas: patient support partner(s) and healthcare provider education, qualify management, clinical services, community outreach and program development.
