Director of the Adolescent Medicine Section Faculty Position Adolescent Medicine Section, Division of Population Health, Quality, and Implementation Sciences The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a candidate for a faculty position in the Adolescent Medicine Section, Division of Population Health, Quality, and Implementation Sciences. Clinical responsibilities include both outpatient clinics and inpatient consultation. The candidate will assume responsibilities as the Director of the Adolescent Medicine Section, with the potential to grow the Adolescent Medicine enterprise in the Department of Pediatrics. Opportunities for growth include the clinical practice, including at an off-site primary care center, the development of a research enterprise, and building upon existing medical student, resident, and fellow education. The Section is responsible for the required Adolescent Medicine rotation for residents and actively participates in medical student teaching. The ideal candidate will have (or be developing) a track record in health services, translational, clinical research, and/or educational research. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited medical school and a graduate of a fellowship program in Adolescent Medicine. Board certification in Pediatrics with eligibility for or certification in Adolescent Medicine is required. The Division of Population Health, Quality, and Implementation Sciences (PopQuIS in Pediatrics) is an innovative national leader in integrating primary care pediatrics with other whole child specialties such as Adolescent Medicine to develop a transdisciplinary community of scholarship regarding health and health care for children in the context of their communities. The Division leverages the common interests across specialties to enhance research and education while supporting world class clinical care. The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, and outpatient services are provided at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey which also houses our research faculty. The Department of Pediatrics includes physicians and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of relevance to childhood diseases. The Department provides a collaborative setting for the study of basic mechanisms of disease, educational scholarship, and clinical, translational and health services research to provide new insights to the mechanisms and treatment of childhood diseases. The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the highly NIH-funded academic universities and Rutgers both brings the excitement and energy of a Big 10 University and is a member of the Association of American Universities comprising the top comprehensive research universities in North America. Adjacent to the Children’s hospital is the PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital which is one of the country’s largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey – the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey as well as the Ronald MacDonald House. As the state’s premiere institution, located in central Jersey, there are many opportunities to collaborate across campuses with all the health professional schools and biomedical science schools at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
