The OB Education Manager ensures that quality Maternal Child Health education is delivered to patients before, during, and after the delivery of their baby in accordance with professional and regulatory standards, and the philosophy and mission of the hospital. Implements patient care standards, effective staff orientation and continuing education programs in accordance with the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative. Designs and directs a comprehensive Maternal Child Health based quality assurance program to maintain Baby Friendly designation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care. Evaluate staff in accordance with performance expectations and mutually established goals. Develops, implements, and maintains the departmental budget. Coordinate the annual Women’s Wellness Conference for staff and outside participants.
Clinical Care: Ensure that quality patient care is delivered to all patients on a 24-hour basis, and the unit is maintained in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and the philosophy and goals of Hoag. Perform other duties as assigned.
