The East Central District Health Department (ECDHD) and Good Neighbor Community Health Center, serving a primarily rural, four-county area in east central Nebraska, seeks an experienced, innovative Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to lead a public health department that operates a Federally Qualified Health Center within its operational capacity. ECDHD manages an annual budget of $8 million and a staff of 130 employees. GNCHC, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) operates two locations providing primary medical, dental, obstetrics, and behavioral healthcare services to over 10,475 patients each year.
The CEO is responsible for overall leadership and performance of the agency’s public health programs, services, and health center operations. This includes administrative, clinical, financial, human resources, quality improvement and strategic direction as directed by the governing Boards. The CEO will oversee day-to-day management of the agency, serve as the community liaison, and be the “public face” of our organization. Additionally, this position will develop constructive relationships with stakeholders, senior leadership, and the workforce while providing regular reports to both Boards of ECDHD and GNCHC.

Prefer a Master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field and a minimum five years successful experience in executive management positions in public health or healthcare management. Extensive health care administration experience with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above areas is acceptable. Thorough knowledge of Public Health principles and experience with FQHCs is highly desirable.
