Job Description
Summary of Position: Manage the grant and business development activities of the Association working closely with the organization’s development, financial and executive teams.

Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate with the Association’s development, financial and executive staff to:

1. Manage all aspects of grant management including:

a. Comprehensively research new sources of foundation support and write Letters of Intent and proposals; b. Develop a system for identifying and disseminating information on potential grant opportunities; c. Ensure compliance with foundation reporting requirements by creating an effective tracking system. This will include the coordination and writing of reports to funders; d. Assist in developing plans to replace funding when grants expire.

2. Research and pursue business opportunities including working closely with the Deputy Director of Development and other staff to develop additional funding streams for the association.

3. Help cultivate corporate sponsorship and assist in the expansion of the affinity program.

4. Marketing and communication of the Association’s development program including creation of a newsletter and providing articles for the annual report, strategic plan and other association published material.

5. Contribute to an annual development plan for the Association.

6. Work across departments to help define and help create new membership benefits and member resources.


Requirements
Skills and Talents Required: 1. Experience with grants management or coordination. 2. Marketing and Communication of the organizations development progress. 3. Ability to synthesize information and distill into clear, easily understandable documents. 4. Exceptional writing skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to meet timelines and manage competing priorities. 6. Leadership skills. 7. Efficient time management. 8. Proficient in Windows-based computer applications and computer research skills.

Ability to: 1. Meet deadlines. 2. Establish rapport with others in business and community settings. 3. Manage competing priorities. 4. Work independently or as part of a team. 5. Maintain confidentiality.

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required with a Masters in Public Health, Public Administration, or Business Administration preferred. Five years of progressively responsible experience with proposal development and grant reporting. Experience with donor relations, annual campaigns, and start-up business development preferred.
